A company developing a fast-charging power bank around Molicel P50B
cells, targeting a 0–80% recharge in 15 minutes with custom charging
electronics and thermal management.

01. THE PROBLEM

A power bank gets you away from an outlet, but refilling the power bank
itself can take hours. We want a short charging stop to be enough to get
moving again.

02. WHAT I BUILT
------------------------------------------------------------------------
We are developing a three-cell P50B pack with custom charging and
battery-protection boards and a thermally managed enclosure. A 1517
Medici Grant is supporting prototype development. The design is still in
development; the 15-minute recharge is a target we are working to
validate.

03. WHAT I LEARNED
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Charging speed has to be considered alongside temperature and battery
wear. The design needs repeatable measurements across charging cycles,
not just a fast charge once.

04. WHAT'S NEXT
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Build and test the prototypes, record charging curves and cell
temperatures, and measure efficiency and capacity changes over repeated
cycles.
